The key thing is to focus on disenchanting. Find any low-level green items and then take these and disenchant them to create your basic enchanting materials things like Lesser Astral Essence or Strange Dust. Head to the Eastern Plaguelands and to the southwest corner of the region. Here you'll find the Undercroft and Mossflayer Zombies. The Mossflayer Zombies are fairly easy to kill, but more importantly they return quickly and drop all sorts of silver and Runecloth. With quick respawn and decent drops this is a great place to farm if you can get it to yourself. Another great mob in the Plaguelands is the Plaguebat.
